Appraisal, Warranty & Repair
Jewelry Appraisal
We provide appraisal services for our fine jewelry, which includes a professional evaluation of the piece’s value for insurance purposes and personal knowledge. Our appraisals are conducted by certified professionals and include detailed descriptions of the materials, gemstones, and craftsmanship, as well as the retail replacement value.
We strongly encourage clients to have their jewelry insured using our appraisal to protect against non-manufacturer defects and theft.
Limited Warranty
We offer a Limited Warranty on our fine jewelry products, which covers manufacturer defects in materials or craftsmanship for one year from the original purchase date.
What is Covered by the Manufacturer’s Defect Warranty?
This warranty covers defects that are due to errors in materials, workmanship, or design during the manufacturing process. These issues arise when the product does not meet the expected standards of quality under normal use.
- Defective Materials:
- If the metal used in your jewelry is flawed—such as cracking, discoloration, or premature tarnishing that is not due to normal wear.
- Gemstones or diamonds with visible flaws (e.g., cracks, chips, or fractures) that were caused during the manufacturing process, not due to external impact or misuse.
- Workmanship Defects:
- Issues that occur from poor craftsmanship such as loose prongs, defective clasps, or poorly attached stones.
- Misaligned settings (e.g., stones that are uneven or crooked) that were not positioned correctly during manufacturing.
- Broken or detached links in chains or bent rings due to improper joining of components.
- Structural Failures:
- If the item breaks or fails due to weak points in the design that were a result of inadequate construction or improper material handling during production.
- Flaws in Polishing or Finish:
- If the jewelry has scratches, blemishes, or unfinished surfaces that arise from a failure in the final polishing or finishing process.
What is Not Covered by the Manufacturer’s Defect Warranty?
The warranty does not cover damage or issues that arise due to external factors, misuse, or normal wear and tear. Some examples of things not covered include:
- Normal Wear and Tear:
- Over time, jewelry naturally experiences wear, such as:
- Surface scratches, tarnishing, or fading.
- Minor abrasions on gemstones or metals that occur through regular use.
- Slight loosening of settings or joints from regular, everyday wear.
- Accidental Damage or Misuse:
- Damage that occurs from dropping, bending, or crushing the jewelry.
- Excessive force applied to the item, such as using the jewelry in harsh environments or improper handling.
- Jewelry exposed to chemicals, cosmetics, or extreme heat/cold that causes damage (e.g., discoloration, warping, or stone damage).
- Loss of Center Stones:
- Loss of center stones or other gemstones from their settings. Stones may come loose due to external impact or wear, but stone replacement is not covered under this warranty.
- Alterations or Customization:
- Any jewelry that has been resized, engraved, or altered by anyone other than our authorized professionals.
- Personalization or modifications done post-purchase that affect the original integrity of the product.
- Damage Due to Improper Care or Maintenance:
- Failure to follow care instructions, such as not storing the jewelry properly (e.g., exposing it to excessive moisture or extreme temperatures).
- Improper cleaning, such as using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that can damage the surface or structure.
After One Year
- After the one-year period, manufacturer defects are no longer covered under this warranty.
- However, if your jewelry needs repairs after the warranty period, we can still assist with repairs for a fee, which will be based on the extent of the damage or required service.
